“Nutrition deficiencies in the diets of people with neurologic conditions such as MS, Parkinson’s’ disease, stroke, ALS, and dementia are common,” notes Irene Malaty, MD, FAAN, endowed professor of neurology at the University of Florida’s Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases in Gainesville, Florida.  “This can contribute to weakness, fatigue, weight and muscle loss, faulty, loss of mobility, inability to exercise and a higher risk for falls and fractures,” she says *.

As a caregiver, one of main things I’ve noticed in client’s homes is how unprepared most clients are for senior living.  As we age, we have less energy to sort and clean, less ability to move around safely and less visitors.  Yet, our homes appear to be set in a scene from twenty years ago.
